Some of you may have been following the New Horizons mission and may already know this but...
Several newly discovered features have been tentatively named by the science team. Some of the names are Lord of the Rings related!
A dark spot on Pluto has been named Balrog. A large dark spot on Pluto's largest moon Charon has been named Mordor. No features have been named on one of the smaller moons Hydra yet, but the list of names is generally set to include legendary dragons. Dare I say we may have a feature named for Smaug?
I uploaded 3 images to the OOC gallery if you want to see what Balrog and Mordor look like.

I've heard that Pluto is dwarf planet. Are there any hobbit planets?

No that I know of. But I have a really convoluted theory that links the Elves to Vulcan from Star Trek.
