Middle-Earth Lyrics!

Here's a fun game. Take a modern (relatively speaking) song and put new lyrics to it, to fit Middle-Earth. 

I'll start, with my LOTR version of "Smoke on the Water", "Smaug On The Water":

We all came out to Laketown, 

Just off the Long Lake shoreline. 

To warn the Men about a dragon, 

We didn't have much time. 

Bard of Dale, the Bowman, 

Had cut all the bridges down,

Callin' the Archers of Esgaroth

To watch and defend the town. 

Smaug o'er the water and fire in the sky. 

Smaug o'er the water... 

 

Smaug burned down the floating homes, 

Burned from the breath of the drake. 

Men and women were running all about, 

Pulling kids out the lake. 

Bard and Archers fought madly, 

Shooting at a furious pace. 

Bard had only his Black Arrow, 

Bilbo's thrush showed him the place. 

Smaug o'er the water and fire in the sky. 

Smaug o'er the water...  

 

Smaug pierced, he fell in anguish. 

Dead, he smashed into the town. 

Safe on shore the people cheered for Bard

Crying out for a crown. 

Bard would only stay for a while

seeing to shelter and aid,

Lonely Mountain called out to him,

There five armies would soon be made.

Smaug o'er the water and fire in the sky.

Haha -- I've got an ABC for Smoke on the Water -- maybe you should "sing" these lyrics when we play the song! I've noticed that the Lonely Mountain Band likes to create LOTRO versions of lyrics and perform them at their concerts.

It would be a real giggle!

I know there's a plug-in called "Lyrical" that they use to "sing" lyrics at the right timing, but I've not looked into it past the name.  Maybe I ought to.  

I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm all about humor and having a great time! ;-)
